Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)
FAQ1
Are gutter guards effective?
Yes. Gutter guards are effective:-
- When professionally installed
- When installed for the right reasons
- When they are properly maintained
FAQ2
Do gutter guards need maintenance?
Yes. Just like your vehicle, gutter guards require regular maintenance in order to retain maximum functionality. The level of maintenance required will depend on a number of factors including the type of mesh you choose, the profile of your roof and your environment. All meshes have different aperture sizes. So, the reality is that anything smaller than these hole sizes pass through the mesh into the gutter. Some meshes block more debris than others. Ember guard is a more suitable mesh to use for protection against trees that shed smaller debris, such as pine needles, wattles and jacarandas. Our screwed down metal meshes typically offer the maximum protection because they form a complete barrier which also act like a ‘ski slope’ that allows leaves and debris to just slide off or be blown away in the wind. Remember, the idea of a gutter guard is to stop the MOST amount of the debris from entering the gutters. Although some particles will flush out of the gutter when it rains, some will still remain and accumulate over time. Furthermore, under the right conditions, moss will inevitably grow inside the gutter, just like any other gutters without gutter guard. All this necessitates a professional gutter clean over time. For DYI maintenance, we recommend that you flush the gutters at least once a year to clear sediment. We recommend a professional maintenance clean at least once every 2 years depending on your environment
FAQ3
Do you have gutter protection suitable for bushfire prone areas?
Yes. Our ember guard and stainless-steel meshes are specifically designed for use in bushfire prone areas and are suitable for all roof types. Remember, ember guard only delays and thus helps to prevent the rapid spread of ember attacks on your home.
FAQ4
Do gutter guards offer any other benefits?
Added benefits include bird, vermin and possum proofing for your gutters. We also provide solar panel bird proofing solutions.
FAQ5
Will water still get into my gutters or just run straight off onto the ground during heavy rains?
We use the most appropriate mesh for your roof type to prevent ‘water sheeting’ on your roof. Water sheeting is typically a problem if too fine of a mesh is used on a steeper roof. In any case, it’s better to have water run off to the ground than into your roof cavity!
FAQ6
Will gutter guard mesh restrict water collection into water tanks?
No. Our mesh profile is designed to allow optimum water capture, allowing water to easily enter the gutters for rain water harvesting.
FAQ7
Do you install gutter guard on all roof types?
Yes. All domestic and commercial roof types. We retrofit gutter guards on older and established homes. Our metal meshes are able to span wider gutters commonly found on commercial properties.
FAQ8
Can you provide off the plan quotes?
Yes
FAQ9
Do you install gutter guards on new builds?
Yes.
FAQ10
Are metal gutter guards better than plastic gutter guards?
Overall, yes. Metal guards are more durable and offer maximum protection. Plastic guards are a cheaper option but they will eventually breakdown due to UV exposure. Plastic guards are not suitable for bush fire prone areas.
FAQ11
Do I need to be home or on premises when you do the job?
No. As long as there is adequate access to the working area, you don’t necessarily need to be present.
FAQ12
Can you colour match the gutter guard mesh to my roof and or gutters?
Yes. Our gutter guards are available in a variety of colours to match the aesthetics of your home.
FAQ13
Do you clean the gutters before gutter guard installation?
Yes. We do a thorough clean of your gutters before we install the gutter guard.
FAQ14
How long does it take to install gutter protection?
Every job is different. Depending on the weather and complexity involved, we generally complete jobs within 1-3 days.
FAQ15
Do you install gutter guards on box gutters?
Yes. Box gutters often require specialized bracing techniques to ensure optimum protection. Our technicians have the necessary skills to ensure a professional install.
FAQ16
How long do gutter guards last for?
It depends on your choice of material and general environment. Our premium gutter guards can last for up to 15 years or more.
FAQ17
What is the warranty period?
